ServiceNation Launches National Citizen Service Movement
The ServiceNation Summit will bring together 600 leaders from all across America to New York City, from September 11-12, to ignite a national grassroots movement supporting citizen service through new National Service Legislation. You can check out the ServiceNation Presidential Candidates Forum, which will be nationally televised on Thursday night. Top that and join the movement by participating in the national Day of Action on September 27. 1991 Echoing Green Fellows Alan Khazei, who now is the CEO of Be the Change, Inc., and Michael Brown, who runs City Year, have joined with Civic Enterprise LLC and the Points of Light Institute to spearhead this exciting effort.
Caroline Kennedy, Alma Powell of America’s Promise Alliance, Richard Stengel of TIME Magazine, Vartan Gregorian of the Carnegie Corporation, and Bill Novelli of the AARP are co-chairs of the Summit, which will be hosted by Columbia University on Thursday, and by the Midtown Hilton New York on Friday.

I was at this meeting and I can tell you it was great. You could tell the speakers and everyone involved really put their heart and soul into their speeches and that they meant every word of it. It was the kind of thing all Americans needed to hear during times like these, and it was a great tribute to the victims of the horrific 9/11 attacks.
I was very impressed with Woodruff's questions and professionalism. His words acted as a great catalyst between the two candidates.
It was a great unifying and heart warming speech which left me and my two friends very content that day.
